FURTHER INF Scientific synonym: H. wightiana. Chaulmoogra can be found at elevations from 150 to 750 m. The tree is native of India. In India, the tree is adapted to a relative humidity in July of 80-100% and in January 50-80%. The tree can reach a height of 12-15 m. Part of the root system can be submerged in running water for some time, but the tree will not withstand stagnant water. It is sensitive to fire. |
