BRIEF DESCRIPTION A grass up to 75 cm high with widely spread panicle up to 15 cm long. USES Used as fodder for cattle, donkeys, goats and sheep. GROWING PERIOD Short-lived annual grass. The vegetative phase lasts 19-35 days and there is little vegetative growth after flowering starts. COMMON NAMES Bano, Bannu, Lehmleiche, Sarahol, Bibirua, Binnum. FURTHER INF Scientific synonyms: E. lamarkii, E. serpula, Poa tremula. Bano can be found at elevations from 1000 to 1750 m and is common on sandy soils and in abandoned cultivation.
