| BRIEF DESCRIPTION A small tree or shrub usually reaching a height of up to 3-4 m, though 6 m has been recorded. It has pendulous branches and on favourable sites it may develop a large crown. USES The wood can be used for fuel and the tree for pasture and shelter. GROWING PERIOD Relatively fast growing perennial. COMMON NAMES Acacia pachycarpa. FURTHER INF Scientific synonym: A. crassifrugis. Acacia pachycarpa can be found northwestern Australia within the latitudinal range 19-22°S at altitudes between 100-300 m. It usually occur in the plains along drainage lines, in clay depressions, or on clayey flats. It is nitrogen-fixing. (pH estimated by the compiler). | Sources |
