| BRIEF DESCRIPTION A tall deciduous tree with a rounded crown. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Jarul, Ajhar, Taman, Bondara, Hole-dasal, Challa, Pumarathu, Manimarthu, Pyinma, Eikmwe. FURTHER INF Scientific synonym: L. speciosa. Jalur is best adapted to lowland conditions. Its natural range includes India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Myanmar. It occur along river banks, streams and the edges of swampy ground, but thrives best on well drained soils. Yearly volume production may be 3-5 m3/ha. |
